About us

We are life-long pet lovers. Our mission is to support and promote the ethical treatment of animals in business. Fur pedigrees was founded out of the need to provide an ethical and convenient alternative to pet shops and pet farms, to enable Pet lovers in the US and Canada to find world-class purebred pets from responsible and ethical breeder.  

Too often i had seen horrific breeding practices in this part of the world; dominated by pet markets and commercial pet farms.  Dams are over bred, often too young, and babies are unhealthy and brought up in sub-standard living conditions. They are usually separated from their mother too early, resulting in all sorts of health conditions, a lower quality of life and a shorter life span.

At Fur Pedigrees i believe in the ethical treatment of animals and insist that pet breeding must be carried out in the most humane manner possible.  I will never deal with commercial pet farms under any circumstances. 

I have an extensive network of TICA/ICCF affiliated breeders, small family breeders and breed enthusiasts.  I sometimes personally visit the breeder of every kitten/puppy  that we supply where we examine the living conditions, verify the health and well being, and confirm the temperament, appearance and breed standards of their pets.       

Prior to delivery, all of our fur live pets visit a qualified veterinarian, at least twice, where they are fully vaccinated, de-wormed, implanted with an ISO-compliant registered microchip and undergo a comprehensive health check up.  All of our breeders are certified to be healthy before delivery. The new owner will receive the original, signed veterinary health report including blood test results.

Delivery

DELIVERY /PICKUP

Coordinate Delivery Or Pickup!

Once we receive your deposit and your Contact message, will be in touch with you to arrange a time for pickup or your preferred delivery or shipping.

- Pick-up the kitten/puppy from the breeder

You have the option to personally pick up your kitten. The pick-up location will be provided, and a date and time will be scheduled. Alternatively, if driving to pick up the kitten is not feasible for you, i can arrange for the baby to be handed over to you at the nearest airport to the pick-up location. 

- door-to-door delivery

If you prefer end-to-end delivery by road this can also be arranged. I limit our maximum driving distance to 500 miles, with a travel time not exceeding 6 hours. Due to the sheer size of the country and the climate, a 1 hour flight in an air-conditioned aircraft is usually safer and far less stressful on a kitten/puppy than traveling for many hundreds, or sometimes even more than a thousand kilometers on bumpy roads, in the exact same way that it is for people. A dedicated driver, well-versed in animal care during transportation, will be responsible for your pet's well-being. Regular stops will be made to clean your pet and provide fresh water and food. Kitten/puppy will be well transported inside a car with temperature air condition to save stress.

- Air delivery (Airlines)

For an additional fee ($850), we can also arrange collection from the airport anywhere within the Country - Air delivery outside United States and Canada.

Fur Pedigrees has years of experience delivering pets within South Africa including outlying Countries mentioned above. We take great care to ensure that your fur baby is well taken care of at all times and delivered safely to you


My aim is to have the minimum possible time elapse for a kitten/puppy between leaving their mother and joining their new family. Most of the time, delivery by air is the preferred method. There is a lot of misinformation online by well meaning but poorly informed people about Pets traveling by air. All aircraft  that are equipped to carry live animals do so in a special temperature and pressure controlled compartment which is pressurized to the same standard as the passenger cabin.

No other breeder in the country goes to the lengths i do to ensure that you receive your babies in perfect health or offers a comparable limited lifetime guarantee.
